Recovery pudding: Coconut Almond Yogurt

My favorite way to “get your protein” after a big workout.  Coconut almond yogurt (it’s vegan, no actual dairy) is high in protein (and also, fat) and in goo-form it’s easily digestible and assimilated which is important right after a strength training workout to help with muscle tissue regeneration.  In my experience it also helps to minimize muscle soreness the next day.  Here’s a recipe video I made for one of my buddies a while back.

Directions: Combine the water of 1 young coconut, the “meat” of 2, 1 cup soaked raw almonds.  Makes about 800mL / ~1100 calories.  Optional add ins: maca, protein powder, chlorella, agave nectar, berries, etc.
