I’m also a vegan athlete. Became a vegan last Jan, started training in Feb and ran my first 5k in May. Then I decided to give triathlon a shot. Had to learn how to swim but it’s been awesome and I finished three of those this summer. Did a 10k+ in the Akron Marathon relay and plan to do a half next spring.
Cross-training and yoga for strength have really helped me improve quickly by balancing my workouts without overusing specific muscle groups.
